The Fourth Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2021) will be held on July 26-27, 2021, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The conference will be conducted as a mix of in-person and virtual meetings.

The objective of the conference is to strengthen the regional dialogue, information and knowledge exchange in order to support climate-resilient evidence-based decision-making systems, as well as to explore the possibilities to ensure the synergy in climate projects implementation between international finance organisations and the development agencies in Central Asia.

A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers and moderators of the upcoming event. And, today, we would like to introduce you to Natalia Olofinskaya, “UNDP’s Climate Promise: Supporting ambitious climate policy and action under the Paris Agreement”, Regional Technical Specialist, Nature, Climate and Energy Team, UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub. She will be a speaker at the CACCC-2021 thematic session on climate policy and role civil society.


Speaker

Natalia Olofinskaya is Regional Technical Specialist on Climate Change Adaptation, UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub. She has over 20 years of experience with UNDP in the field of climate, energy and environment.

Since 2015 in her capacity of the Regional Climate Change Adaptation Specialist she has been supporting UNDP Country Offices and national counterparts in the Europe and CIS region to design and implement projects addressing enhanced climate resilience of people, communities and economic sectors. She helps countries to access resources from the GEF, Adaptation Fund and the Green Climate Fund for climate change adaptation projects and programmes. She also provides support in developing national and sectoral adaptation strategies and plans, promoting climate-informed policies, climate change education and awareness.
