17 September 2018
Climate Finance is gaining momentum - The global climate finance architecture has increased over the past decade both in size and complexity, with financing being offered through multiple multilateral funds, bilateral channels and private capital markets. Mr. Mark Sadler from the World Bank gives an overview of the global climate finance flows, main recipients of the financing in terms of regions and sectors, and   most common financial instruments in use. He also touches upon the role of the international development banks and explains why funding from climate funds, whilst representing a relatively small volume, have a very significant structural effect for mobilizing finances from other sources.
