The main objectives of RSC are to provide advisory support, define annual climate investment priority areas, recommend future Program directions, ensure country coordination and facilitate sharing of status update in each country, monitor Program progress.
The participants of the meeting were provided with an overview of the activities of the regional and national components of the project for the first half of 2018.
Under the Regional Component, participants discussed progress in the implementation of individual subcomponents of the project, including the modernization of monitoring systems for climate processes in targeted countries, capacity building in the field of climate and hydrological modeling, support for students in conducting research on climate change, setting up a climate investment assessment mechanism, outreach and coalition building as well as other issues.
National Coordinating Units (NCUs) provided information on the progress of the project activity for each of the participating countries (Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), including information on credit lines.
The participants of the meeting discussed plans for further work within the framework of the CAMP4ASB project, and also expressed interest in further cooperation and dialogue.

CAMP4ASB is a five-year project, the partners of the project are the World Bank, Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS), and national implementing partners in Central Asia. CAMP4ASB aims to enhance regionally coordinated access to improved climate change knowledge services for key stakeholders in Central Asian countries as well as to increased investments and capacity building that, combined, will address climate challenges common to these countries.
CAREC within the framework of this project is responsible to implement the regional component, which aims to strengthen the knowledge and capacity base for climate action and facilitate regional dialogue.
