Street Monitor in Support of Environmental Education in Tajikistan

A monitor to promote environmental education was installed in front of the building of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in Dushanbe. This initiative of the Committee was supported by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) within the framework of the project "Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin" (CAMP4ASB), implemented with the World Bank financial support.

As part of the implementation of the relevant action plan of the State Comprehensive Program for the Development of the Environmental Education of the Republic of Tajikistan's Population by 2020, the monitor to environmental education was installed in the Central Office of the Committee.

The installed 2x3 meter-monitor will display videos and photos on various environmental topics, including an exhibition of lakes and rivers, picturesque landscapes to attract domestic and foreign tourists, as well as the country's unique flora and fauna. It will also serve for the implementation of the State Comprehensive Program for the Development of the Environmental Education of the Republic of Tajikistan's Population by 2020 activities and will be dedicated to the International Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development" (2018-2028).

Visual environmental information, which will be displayed on the street monitor, allows it to be disseminated effectively and accessible to the public.
