The Third Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC 2020) will be held online on October 19-23, 2020. The objective of the conference is to strengthen a regional dialogue on climate change and sustainable development through the information and knowledge exchange in Central Asia. A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers of the upcoming event. And, today, we would like to introduce you to Dr Bahriddin Nishonov, First Deputy General Director, Centre of Hydrometeorological Service at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzhydromet). He will participate as a panellist in the session “Kicking-off climate actions in national policies and transitioning to green economy” on the first day of CACCC 2020, October 19, 2020.
Dr. Bahriddin Nishonov - First Deputy General Director, Centre of Hydrometeorological Service at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzhydromet). Mr. Bahriddin Nishonov holds the academic degree of Candidate of Engineering Science and he is the author of more than 90 publications.
Dr. Bahriddin Nishonov is the focal point of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the authorized official of the Adaptation Fund (AF) of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Mr. Nishonov has made a great contribution to the national communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan under UNFCCC.
Before the appointment as the First Deputy General Director of Uzhydromet, Mr. Nishonov served as the First Deputy General Director (on scientific issues) of the Scientific Research Hydrometeorological Institute (SRHI) and before this position as the Head of the Laboratory for Studies of Surface Waters of the SRHI Sector of Studies and Forecasts of Environmental Pollution.
