"50 images of climate change - time to act" is the photo contest held by the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia within the framework of Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin (CAMP4ASB), carried out with the financial support of the World Bank. Initially, applications for the competition were to be accepted from 10 January 2020 to 1 August 2020. However, the deadline was extended until 10 January 2021.Therefore, do not get upset if you have not had a chance to submit your application yet!
We invite everyone, both professionals and amateur photographers, to participate in the photo contest, and we also welcome the participation of journalists and media representatives.
According to the terms, no fee for participation is charged; the submitted work will not receive any feedback and will remain at the organizers' disposal, with the right of non-commercial use.
• BEAUTY AND POWER OF WOMEN - the role of women in the sustainable use of natural resources in the context of climate change;
• ACTIONS TO PREVENT CLIMATE CHANGE - reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with human activities; conservation and restoration of forests and lands;
• CLIMATE ADAPTATION MEASURES IN AGRICULTURE - the use of "smart" technologies, resource-saving practices in crop and livestock production at the household level.
A creative vision of the most significant problem of our time - global climate change, is welcomed. Try to express the seriousness of the problem through photography and show how climate change specifically affects the quality of human life and the environment.
To participate, you need to fill out an application and attach a photo here by 10 January 2021. Simultaneous participation in all three nominations per one participant is allowed.
• The photo should be accompanied by the name of the author, a title and a short description.
After completing the application, you will receive a notification of confirmation of your participation to the email you specified.
Photos will be evaluated in 5 categories, in each of which there is an opportunity to get from 0 to 10 points.
The criteria for determining the best of the best work are as follows:
• the subject of the photo corresponds to the given nomination of the photo contest;
• technical quality of the photograph;
• proper composition;
• creativity of design, imagery;
• uniqueness of the name of the photo.
