The Third Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC 2020) will be held online on October 19-23, 2020. The objective of the conference is to strengthen a regional dialogue on climate change and sustainable development through the information and knowledge exchange in Central Asia. A series of our publications will be dedicated to the speakers of the upcoming event. And, today, we would like to introduce you to Sergey Semenov, IPCC Working Group II Vice-Chair. His presentation on the possible scientific сonsiderations of the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report cycle will take place on October 20 as part of the thematic session of the CACCC 2020 second day.
Sergey Semenov - Vice-Chairman of Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Since 1988 Sergey Semenov has been the lead author, and since 2003 he has been the coordinating lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), awarded with the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. He took up his current position as a Vice-Chair of IPCC Working Group II in 2008. In 2014, by order of the Russian Government, he was appointed the Russian Federation's representative to the IPCC.
Also, Sergey Semenov has published many scientific studies in the field of climatology, atmospheric physics and ecology. He has published over 200 scientific works, including five monographs.

In 2008, Sergey Semenov was awarded the honorary title "Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation" by the President of Russia. Currently, he is the Scientific Director of the Yu. A. Israel Institute of Global Climate and Ecology.
