The Launch Ceremony of the CACIP is scheduled for May 26th, 2021, in a virtual format at 3pm. The purpose of the event is to present a unique and smart information platform developed by the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), one of the leading research organizations, and commissioned by CAREC as part of the currently implemented regional project under the auspices of EC IFAS “Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin" (CAMP4ASB) financed by the World Bank.

CACIP is a platform designed for the Central Asian countries that operates as an aggregator of climate data, knowledge and information from local and global sources. CACIP provides analytical and scientific data along with popular science information on climate and environment.

CACIP is based on the principle of mutually beneficial exchange of scientific knowledge and has a potential to become a comprehensive knowledge platform that will contribute to the development of climate change adaptation strategies and programmes in the region of Central Asia.

CACIP enables researchers to work with geodata of Central Asia, create their own maps and layers based on existing ones or develop completely new ones. CACIP also provides an opportunity for students and researchers to explore climate and environment-related issues on the special E-learning platform where teachers, experts, and research centers can place their own training courses.
